Melania Trump publishes her first memoirs

Former First Lady Melania Trump will publish her first memoirs this fall.

Melania is the powerful and inspiring story of a woman who defined personal excellence, overcame adversity, and forged her own path,” reads a description of the book on her website. “The former First Lady invites readers into her world and offers an intimate portrait of a woman who lived an extraordinary life.”

Why a Donald Trump victory is Melania’s worst nightmare

The website also claims that the memoir will include “stories and images never before released to the public.” Her office announced the memoir on Thursday, but an exact release date has not yet been set, according to the Associated Press. It is unclear whether the memoir will be released before the November presidential election, the news agency reported.

Melania is to be published by Skyhorse Publishing, which has previously published works by other people close to Donald Trump, including former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani and Michael Cohen, Trump’s former agent turned enemy.

The book will cost $40, with signed copies costing $75, according to Melania’s office. A “collector’s edition,” which will be “in full color and each copy signed by the author,” can also be preordered for $150.

News of the memoir comes at a time when the former first lady has been largely absent from her husband’s campaign. Last week, she appeared at the closing night of the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, but broke with tradition by choosing not to speak at the event, despite having done so in 2020 and 2016.

She also did not attend her husband’s debate against President Joe Biden last month, nor was she present at the former president’s historic hush money trial in New York earlier this year. This month, however, she made some public remarks in the form of a statement following his attempted assassination at a rally in Pennsylvania.

“When I saw the brutal bullet hit my husband Donald, I realized that my life and Barron’s were about to undergo a devastating change,” she said in her statement about their child. She described her husband as a “generous and caring man” with whom she had been through “the best and the worst of times.”
