ASID recognizes outstanding design achievements at its annual awards ceremony

The American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) honored the 2024 recipients of the society’s highest professional recognition, the annual ASID National Awards, at the Diamonds in Denver Awards Reception during the ASID Gather: Catalyst 2024 conference on Tuesday, August 13, in Denver, CO.

The program recognizes designers and their groundbreaking work in interior design in three main categories: the Legacy Awards, the Annual Awards and the Focus Awards.

“The ASID National Awards program proudly recognizes interior designers and their role in inspiring innovation and progress in our profession,” said Khoi Vo, CEO of ASID. “Through their work – including projects, engagement and volunteer work – each of these winners has demonstrated the highest level of design excellence through their passionate commitment to interior design. We are excited not only to celebrate their achievements, but also to see their continued influence throughout the design community.”

The Legacy Awards recognize interior designers for their commitment to advancing the industry through their work and careers. The 2024 Legacy Awards winners are:

Designer with distinction | Kerrie Kelly, FASID, NKBA

Award luminary | Lily Robinson, ASID

Award Administrator | AJ Paron, Hon. FASID, Associate Member IIDA, Associate AIA, LEED AP ID&C, WELL AP

The annual awards recognize the work and achievements of practitioners with significant design achievements throughout the year and honor educators, students, volunteers, stakeholders and more. This year’s honorees are:

Lawyer of the Year | Virginia Weida, ASID, CFM, LEED AP, WELL AP

Student of the Year | Sydney Rens, ASID student

Volunteer of the Year | Michelle Jacobson, ASID, MPS, NCIDQ, WELL AP, LFA, LEED AP ID+C, FITWEL, TRUE

Designer of the Year | Alison Faecher, ASID, NCIDQ, EDAC, LEED AP

Chapter of the Year | ASID New York Metro

Community Impact of the Year | Lucy Interiors for Make-A-Wish® Minnesota – Isaac’s Treehouse

Educator of the Year | Kendra Locklear Ordia, ASID, IIDA, RID, NCIDQ, LEED AP

Company of the Year | Corgan

The Focus Awards shine a spotlight on outstanding design projects that address different areas of global issues, either around wellbeing, diversity, community or climate. The projects were selected for their ability to provide a framework and call to action to advance design in their respective category. Focus Awards winning projects include:
