Don’t underestimate the power of America! Especially if America has a say in the Big Brother is played. Quinn Martin received the first punishment from America when he was placed on lock after using America’s Veto last week. And yet, he still hasn’t understood the negative aspect of the audience’s anger. In Week 4 of the match, Quinn made a big move that America was trying to prevent. He used his Deep Fake HoH power, and that might have been the worst thing for his game in the long run. Even though Quinn has the power to shake up the match this week, he increased his goal in this house while continuing to infuriate America. They don’t want him to succeed!
Big Brother is everyone’s favorite summer pastime. Since its debut on CBS in 2000 Big Brother is the live reality show in which players spend the summer in a house and compete for power, security and the chance to earn $750,000. While the players are isolated in the Big Brother Broadcasting in real time gives America the opportunity to follow the action on television. Big Brother live feeds and then have the opportunity to influence the game. When there is the opportunity to vote for twists, advantages and disadvantages, America’s vote can really affect the outcome of the game. Unfortunately Not every player can really understand that America’s opinions are meant to give a clear indication of the state of affairs.

Quinn underestimates his place in the game
Quinn Martin received the Deep Fake HoH power-up at the beginning of the season. After it became known that he had the power, he became a target of some players. But when he dodged the block, as Tucker Des Lauriers bravely didn’t walk away, there was a giant target engraved on his back and America was angry. Makensey Manbeck used her power, America’s Veto, which allowed her to be safe and let the viewers vote on a replacement candidate. It was Quinn. This should have alerted him that he was the most unpopular player in the Big Brother House. Although he was not ultimately voted out, he decided to double down on his power and used the Deep Fake HoH as Angela Murray won HoH and essentially hijacked their HoH week.
Since everyone knew he was the holder of the power, it was no secret that the artificially created Angela was his work when the houseguests were called into the living room for a surprise nomination ceremony. While Angela sat there in disbelief and exclaimed that she had not chosen Tucker Des Lauriers, Makensy Manbeck and Cedric HodgesQuinn had to admit that it was indeed his nomination. And it was uncomfortable. He tried to make his point, but he squirmed through it. Knowing he was likely to be a target for Angela this week, he believed he really needed to use the power. Even when he thought he was alerting Angela that he was going to use his power in hopes of negotiating a deal with her about who she would nominate, he used it as a power play. And he taunted her in the diary room. This is not a way to flatter the audience or the lady in power.
Quinn believes that using the Deep Fake HoH was smart because it saved him and his ally, the Pentagon. But in reality, by using the Deep Fake HoH, he has revealed his cards close to his chest and revealed exactly who he is allied with and who they are targeting. Knowing he’s highly likely to win any challenge he faces, Tucker will target Quinn and his allies. Knowing Angela would be furious that the rug was pulled out from under her, he’s still her number one target. Makensy isn’t on Quinn’s side and has him as a secondary target. For Quinn to believe this one-time move would benefit him and his alliance in the long run, he would have to hope and pray that he and his allies can win every Head of Household until they’re officially in the majority. But in four HoH competitions this season, half of them were won by his allies. The other two were wins for Angela. That’s not an exceptional track record to lean on. Power can go to your head. This is proof that it did with Quinn. This is a sign of a mediocre Big Brother Players. Spectators love big plays and players ready to play. Quinn thinks he is. But he isn’t. It’s Tucker.

Big Brother players must listen to America
When the first season of Big Brother aired, America had complete control over who was eliminated each week. In Season 2, that changed and the power was in the hands of the players. Since America was watching in real time, it still had the opportunity to influence the game. And it did! When America votes, nine times out of ten it’s for an advantage or the title of America’s Player in the Finale. When it’s a disadvantage, like America’s recent Veto, it shows how the viewers feel. When America gives a player an advantage, it’s a sign that they’re popular; they want them to succeed. Players should be aware that a goal has been stated. The recipient of the advantage should know how to exploit that advantage, knowing their fellow players may not be happy with the outcome. When America puts a player at a disadvantage, as it did with Quinn, it should make the team realize that they need to examine themselves and ask themselves if their game is working. For Quinn, this is essentially an indication that they do not accept his behavior at this time.
If there is another vote this season where America can decide to introduce a power or disadvantage, Quinn is screwed. He doesn’t realize that the power of the audience will continue to affect his game. He will be perceived as a threat in the game and a gnat outside of it. Quinn is the least popular player simply because of America’s veto, and he has underestimated his position. Quinn thinks he is stronger in the game than he really is. Quinn’s inability to understand his point of view also shows the difficulties players have in this live game. America is watching and America is judging. When they say something, take it to heart. Future players: Remember this when you BB A house.
