Chicago woman arrested at Applebee’s in Indiana after argument over ‘All You Can Eat’ offer: Police

A Chicago woman was arrested at an Applebee’s in Indiana after a dispute over an “all you can eat” deal earlier this month.

Shawneesha Cobbs, 28, was charged with inappropriate contact on August 2.

At approximately 8:38 p.m. that day, Portage Police officers responded to a reported disturbance at Applebee’s Bar and Grill at 6211 US Highway 6.

When officers arrived, they heard several people screaming and yelling.

A woman spoke to police and said she, along with Cobbs, another man and several juveniles, were involved in an altercation with the manager of Applebee’s.

The group assumed that ordering the “All You Can Eat” deal for $15.99 for one person would apply to the entire table.

When the group was told that each person would have to pay $15.99 for the meal, an argument broke out. The group said the manager was unprofessional and that nowhere on the menu was it mentioned that the price was $15.99 per person.

Cobbs subsequently turned the menu over to Portage Police, who showed both Cobbs and another woman in the group that the menu said “per person.”

At this point, a couple left the restaurant. Cobbs pointed at them and explained that there had been an argument between the couple and the group earlier.

As the couple walked out the door, an argument broke out again and Cobbs reportedly became very loud and rowdy.

Police warned Cobbs that she was behaving inappropriately, and one of the women in her group tried to calm her down.

When that didn’t work, police again told Cobbs that she was being disruptive and that she would be arrested if she didn’t stop.

She was then placed in a patrol car and taken to the Porter County Jail.

Her group ended up paying the entire bill.
