Woman arrested for violating Applebee’s all-you-can-eat meal rules

An Illinois woman was arrested after attending an all-you-can-eat meal with friends.

The Applebee’s special allows customers to order one of three entrees (boneless wings, shrimp or ribs) and unlimited fries for $15.99.

But Shawneesha Cobbs of Chicago is accused of cheating the system by paying for two of the daily specials but sharing them with more than two other friends at the table.

A manager at Applebee’s in Portage, Indiana, explained that each guest had to pay $15.99 – but the group did not agree. A dispute ensued over the bill.

Police were called to the restaurant around 8:30 p.m. on Friday, August 2, Local 12 reported.

According to Region News Source, dispatch told officers they “heard several women screaming and threatening people.”

The group tried to make it clear to the police that it was not clear whether everyone had to pay individually.

However, officials were able to easily find the bold message on the menu.

Cobbs, 28, reacted quickly and rioted, ignoring police requests to calm down.

She was subsequently arrested and taken to the Porter County Jail, where she was charged with disturbing the peace.

According to local news reports, a member of the group later returned to the restaurant and paid the bill in full.

Applebee’s has joined other fast-food restaurants in offering cheap specials to compete with fast-food chains and lure back inflation-weary customers.

The move to compete with fast-food chains is similar to that of Chilli’s, which also recently launched its new “Big Smasher.” – a larger version of the Big Mac – with fries and a drink for under $10.
