Clooney and Amal have twins Ella and Alexander seven years ago, and keeping them out of the spotlight is her priority. Clooney revealed that not only is it helping them grow up as normally as possible, but it’s also a matter of safety.
“My goal is to protect. I don’t want pictures of my children,” he said recently in an interview with GQ. “We deal with very serious issues, with very serious villains, and we don’t want photos of our children floating around in public.”
The interview was conducted with Brad Pitt as the pair promote their new film ‘Wolfs’. They revealed that their fame sometimes forces them to think carefully about everyday things before they do them. They said that they “avoid going to the hospital for things that you would normally go to the hospital for” for fear of making headlines.
“That’s absolutely true,” Clooney said. “You assess how bad something is before you go.”
How having children affected Clooney’s work
Elsewhere in the interview, Clooney spoke about the impact having children has had on him and how it has changed his approach to directing and acting. “I’ve been directing for a year now and now my kids are at a certain age,” he said. “We’re not going to throw our kids out of school and let them run around.”
He said when the kids were younger, he was able to take them on set with him. “It’s different now,” he said. “So I’ll probably focus on other things now, like acting.”
