Materials: Colored paper (saffron, white, green), pin, stick, scissors.

Instructions: Cut three squares out of colored paper, one each in saffron, white, and green. The squares should be the same size. Attach them to a stick with a pin. Next, use a ruler and pencil to draw diagonal lines from each corner. Cut along each diagonal line, stopping about 1 inch from the center of the square. Take one corner of each triangle you created and fold it to the center of the square and glue in place. Once all four corners are folded and glued in place, carefully stick a pin through the center of the pinwheel. Kids can decorate their pinwheels with glitter or stickers for extra flair. After decorating, blow on them and have fun.

Materials: Colored paper (saffron, white, green), glue, straw

Instructions: Cut three strips of colored paper, one each in saffron, white, and green. Then start with the saffron colored paper strip. Fold the strip back and forth in an accordion style, making sure each fold is about 1 inch wide. Repeat this step with all the other colors. Once all three strips are folded, place them together so the edges of the folds meet. Gather the bottom edge of the accordion folded paper together and secure with glue or a clip. Take a straw and glue it to the back of the gathered end of the fan. Once the stick is attached, carefully fan the paper from bottom to top. Let the kids add a personal touch to their artwork to make it even more fun.

Materials: colored tissue paper (saffron, white, green), green pipe cleaners, scissors, glue

Instructions: Take the tissue paper in the three colors of the Indian flag and cut each sheet into squares. Stack 6-8 tissue paper squares neatly on top of each other. Using scissors, cut the stacked squares into petal shapes. Once all the petals are cut, keep them stacked on top of each other. Pinch the center of the stacked tissue paper petals together and gently twist them. Secure the twisted center with a green pipe cleaner. Starting with the top layer, carefully separate each layer of tissue paper and pull it towards the center to fluff up the petals. Once you have made a sufficient number of flowers, gather the pipe cleaner stems to form a bouquet. These flowers can be decorated in a vase in your house. You can also use colored poster paper if you cannot find tissues.

Materials: Colored ribbons (saffron, white, green), wooden hoops, glue, scissors, ruler

Instructions: First, cut several long ribbons in saffron, white and green. Make sure that each ribbon is the same length so that it looks balanced. Then divide the ribbons into three groups by color.

Start with the saffron colored ribbons and carefully attach them one by one to the lower half of the hoop, making sure they are close together to create a full and vibrant effect. Follow with the white ribbons, then the green ones, filling half of the hoop’s edge with the tri-colored motifs of the Indian flag.

Let your creativity run wild with the remaining empty half of the frame! You can continue the ribbon pattern, weave in some tri-colored flowers, or add other embellishments like beads or tassels. Let your imagination run wild as you create a unique and patriotic display.

Instructions: To create a quilling masterpiece, start by sketching the outline of a historically significant monument on paper. Once your sketch is complete, cut long, thin strips of chart paper in saffron, white and green.

Instead of coloring the monument, you can bring it to life with the feathered strips. Start quilling by rolling the strips into tight spirals, then carefully shape and place them in the sketch. Fill in the entire monument with the tri-colored feathers, creating a vibrant and textured tribute to India’s heritage.

Materials: Colors (saffron, white, green), glue, pencil, cardboard, scissors

Instructions: First, take plastic spoons and carefully cut off the heads using scissors. Once you have cut off the spoon heads, paint each one in the colors of the Indian flag: saffron, white and green. Let the paint dry completely.

Next, take a round piece of cardboard and arrange the painted spoon heads on it in a pattern that resembles a flower. Place the saffron colored spoon heads on the outer edge, then the white ones in the middle and the green ones in the center. This arrangement creates a visually appealing representation of the tricolor.

Attach each spoon head to the cardboard with glue or tape, making sure they are tight and evenly spaced. As a finishing touch, you can also paint or decorate the center of the cardboard to enhance the overall look of your patriotic flower. Once everything is dry and solid, you can display your creation as a festive decoration for Independence Day or other patriotic occasions.

Materials: paints, old CDs, strings, beads

Instructions: Cut several strings, each about 12 inches long. Use old CDs and paint them in saffron, white and green to create patriotic patterns on the strings. Thread the CDs alternately onto the strings in a pattern resembling the Indian flag or other patriotic motifs. Once the strings are decorated, tie each end of the strings to a wooden ring or stick to form the base of the wind chime.

Attach additional pieces of string to the ring to create a hanger for the wind chime. Make sure the strings are evenly spaced and securely fastened. Hang the finished wind chime outside or in a place where it can catch the breeze. When the wind blows, the CDs will produce a gentle, melodic sound, adding a patriotic touch to your room.

Finally, dip your hand in the green paint and press it on the lower part of the paper to make the third row of handprints. Let the paint dry completely.
