Saundra was the only support and guardian angel for her mother Pat, who is over 80 years old. GoFundMe Account has been set up to support and help Pat financially. If you feel like it or have liked one of Saundra’s designs in KMR’s magazines, you can donate Here. KMR will double all donations up to the goal.

Saundra, who recently celebrated her ten-year anniversary with the company, was a seasoned art director and graphic designer with over 35 years of experience. She earned her BFA in Graphic Design from the Corcoran School of Art + Design in Washington, DC

Her design career began in the newspaper industry before working as an art director and graphic designer for associations, magazines, start-ups, non-profits and graphic design firms.

Her creative skills included commercial and industrial graphics and all forms of print materials, advertising, publication design and corporate branding.

“Saundra was an incredible person – always smiling, always laughing and such unwavering faith,” says Drew Vass, editor-in-chief of Door and Window Market (DWM) Magazine. “Her passion was incredible, she produced so many award-winning designs. Every project started with an in-depth discussion about the content. Her process was so careful and thoughtful. We were a team. And I will miss her. When we weren’t talking about design, we were talking about science fiction. She loved it.”

Casey Flores, editor of Window Film and PPF magazines, added, “Saundra was one of the nicest people you could imagine. She always asked about our families and was genuinely interested in what was going on outside of the office. We will miss her very much.”

Dawn Campbell is KMR’s editor-in-chief and art director. She worked with Saundra on a daily basis.

“When we worked together as art directors, we collaborated on so many pieces that sometimes we had our own language that only we understood. We could understand what the other was trying to achieve and could help each other get it done,” says Campbell. “I’m really going to miss that collaboration. I’m going to miss her willingness to help in any way she could to make sure we met deadlines and made everything beautiful. But she was more than just a colleague; she was my friend. I’m going to miss sharing family stories, her ever-positive attitude, and of course, our love of dark chocolate.”

At KMR, Saundra worked on all of the company’s magazines and print materials, as well as all forms of creative design work for the company’s industry trade shows and two associations.

Saundra has received numerous awards for her advertisements, as well as awards for her work in tabloid and campaign design from the MDDC and VA press associations. She has also been featured in David E. Carter’s Big Book of New Design Ideas.

At KMR, Saundra won more than 15 national and/or regional ASBPE Gold, Silver and Bronze Design Awards for her work on Architect’s handbook for glass and metal (AGG), AGRR(DWM), window film and USGGirls’ magazines.

“We will miss her terribly,” says KMR CEO Deb Levy. “She had this wonderful combination of vision and attention to detail that brought her projects to life. We all looked better because of her. Our focus now is to help her mother,” adds Levy.

Saundra was the only support and guardian angel for her mother Pat, who is over 80 years old. GoFundMe Account has been set up to support and help Pat financially. In honor of Saundra, we’ve put together a slideshow with some of our favorite examples of her work. We hope you enjoy looking through it.
