John H. Ellsessor, 82, Angelica

Angelica – John H. Ellsessor, age 82, of High Street, passed away unexpectedly at his home on August 9, 2024.He was born November 17, 1941 in Angelica, NY to John Ellsessor and Mildred Case Ellsessor. He lived in the area his entire life. John joined the U.S. Army and proudly served for 3 years. He was a life member of Angelica American Legion Post #414 and was also a past commander. He was a retired union worker from local union #33 and attended First Baptist Church in Angelica. John was also a gun enthusiast, member of the NRA, Canaseraga Conservation Club and an avid hunter.
His parents, his son Aaron Ellsessor and his wives Diane, Betty, Lillian and Leila had already died.
He is survived by his son Shayne (Michelle) Ellsessor of Angelica, Brett (Heidi) Ellsessor of Belfast, his daughter Jennifer (Rick) Hunt of Angelica, his brother William “Bill” (Sue) Ellsessor of Angelica, his sister Carol (Charles) Dibert of Angelica, several grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
The family will be present to receive friends on Friday (August 16, 2024) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Brown & Powers Funeral Home in Angelica. A funeral service will follow visiting hours at 1 p.m. with Pastor Marc Chamberlain officiating. Burial will be with military honors at Until the Day Dawn Cemetery.
