Disney Dreamlight Valley birthday blog gives a glimpse into the future

Gameloft is celebrating two great years of Disney Dreamlight Valley with a new birthday blog post that takes a look into the future of the game. Joshua Labelle, the game’s creative director, first looks back at the last two years and then offers players a glimpse into the future using the roadmap.

What’s coming to DDV?

  • Tiana from The Frog Prince will make her in-game debut later in August, including Tiana’s Palace, new exterior decorations, and a new 1920s-themed Star Trail.
  • The Rift in Time Expansion Pass will conclude this month. Players will “go deep into Jafar’s palace” to stop his nefarious plans. Along the way, players will encounter exciting surprises. The team plans to reveal more about this in the coming weeks.
  • The October update will be smaller and focus on bug fixes and quality of life improvements.
  • Timon and Pumbaa will Finally Enter the game to hang out in the realm of the Lion King. They will bring big surprises to the village and players will help them stop an invasion of the Night Mites, a new problem related to Night Thorns and Oblivion.
  • There are more big surprises waiting for us in the year 23024.

Labelle went on to talk about the way the development team engages with the player.

  • Creating a valley that revolves around the player.
  • Player feedback is crucial for the developers as they work on constantly improving the game, which means adding more requested improvements.
  • Players will be given more opportunities to play together or “maintain their cozy solo experience.”
