For C104, famous anime, manga and game characters are brought to life.

The hottest event for doujinshi authors (self-published manga) and fans every summer is Comic marketor Comiketthe largest doujinshi convention in the world. This year’s edition, known as C104took place on Tokyo Big Sight on August 11 and 12and despite the threat of a typhoon and possible thunderstorms, participants were blessed with clear skies on both days.

130,000 visitors from a total of 64 countries and regions attended the two-day event, proving that this was a very international affair. It was also a very hot affair, not only in terms of temperature, with highs reaching 36 degrees Celsius (96.8 degrees Fahrenheit), but also in terms of the booths and cosplays, which exceeded all our expectations.

Before we get into the actual details of the cosplays, let’s first take a look at Kokusai-tenjijo Station, where most of the event’s participants arrived.

It has become common for the station to be decorated with posters and stickers for the event, and this was the case again, with characters from Yostars Blue Archiveor “Buruaka”, as it is commonly known, and is on hand to greet visitors.

Another treat for visitors are the free leaflets outside the station, which are usually available to those arriving between 9:30 and 10:00 a.m. This year Holo from a Japanese light novel that became an anime series Spice and Wolf was the star figure and, as a true fan, provided some relief.

However, the blood donation cart, which is usually at the end of the queue, was missing from the event, but it was nowhere to be seen.

Although the blood drive was not held in person, the Comic Market 104 Blood Donation Support Event will be held in blood donation rooms across the country from August 11 to September 30. For a blood donation of 400 milliliters (13.5 ounces), you will receive a special set of three posters featuring characters from Ameku Takao’s Detective Map, Make a girlAnd Cardfight!! Vanguard Divinez Season 2.

After queuing in the heat, it was a relief to enter the air-conditioned complex and the stalls were just as cool as the air, so let’s take a tour of the best of them below!

▼ It was a surprise to see the department store chain Marui at the event.

Unlike the other stalls, there were no women in bikinis or well-built men here – just a beautiful horse.

As it turned out, this booth was a collaboration between Marui and Yogibo Versailles Resort Farma racehorse ranch in Hidaka-cho, Hokkaido.

The ranch’s most famous horse is a retired stallion Tanino Gimletwho was unable to attend Comiket, but made his presence felt through the merchandise… and the huge booth set up in his honor.

Iriam is a Vtuber app company and seemed to receive the most support from visitors of all the company booths at this event.

The reason for this was that it was the coolest of allwith a cold air generator and numerous fans inside.

It was a very cool walk and there was even a free bottle of water at the exit, which was a nice gesture of kindness towards the participants.

▼ Thank you, Iriam!

Now that we’ve hydrated, it’s time to explore the thirst traps at some of the other stalls.

▼ Hello, HoYoverse.

▼ The official cosplayers here give us a taste of Genshin Influence And Honkai: Star Trail.

▼ The Terbis Stand presented visitors Terbisa mobile app game planned for release by South Korean developer Webzen.

▼ The Muv Luv And Rumbling hearts The booth drew crowds with its recreation of the hospital environment with Haruka in a coma.

▼ The Identity V The booth was set up like a stage and cosplayers brought characters to life as a rock band.

The lighting here was particularly good, suggesting that it was well designed for photographs, and the stall was popular with young women.

▼ There was a huge queue for the new products that were Love life! Sales stand.

And the Blue Archive The stand was another main attraction.

Momo Friends, cute characters popular in the game world, caught everyone’s attention as they raced on the screen, creating the excitement of a race on the track.

▼ There was an incentive to stay between races because that’s when the official cosplayers showed up.

Azur Lane was another hit, with its characters in swimsuits.

Summer Comiket 2024 was definitely a big event with lots of visitors, booths, and cosplays. We hope you enjoyed our tour of the event, and don’t forget to mark your calendars for Winter Comiket, scheduled to take place on December 29th and 30th. See you there!
