Brown County Fair, igNight Market

GREEN BAY – Summer is coming to a close and Green Bay is hosting some seasonal events. This weekend, the County Fair is in full swing, so put on your cowboy boots.

There’s something for everyone this weekend. Here’s an overview of what’s on offer if you’re still looking for something to do.

Brown County Fair

Head to the rodeo this weekend as the Brown County Fair is in its 143rd year. This year there is a demolition derby, horse pulling, truck and tractor pulling, PRCA rodeo, kids shows and more.

The fair runs Wednesday through Sunday. General admission is $15 and includes parking, rides and entertainment. Sunday admission is $10. The fair is at the Brown County Fairgrounds, 1500 Fort Howard Ave., De Pere. For the schedule, parking and more information, visit browncountyfair.com.

Last food truck rally and art and music night of the summer in De Pere

Downtown De Pere wraps up its summer events with the final Art and Music Night and food truck rally in town. Admire outdoor murals and sculptures, live music and street performers during Art and Music Night on Friday from 4-8 p.m.

The last food truck gathering of the summer in De Pere will be held Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Voyageur Park, 100 William St. There will be eight food trucks, games and live music. For event information, visit definitelydepere.org.

igNight market with hot air balloons illuminates the city

The last igNight Market of the summer will end with the largest balloon glow the event has ever hosted. Fifteen hot air balloons will light up the Fox River at Leicht Memorial Park, 128 Dousman St., from 5 to 10 p.m. Saturday, weather permitting. The balloons will remain on the ground.

Vendors will be selling art and wares, there will be live music, a huge community art project in the form of an insect hotel, life-sized glowing tree art and other activities for children and adults. Entry to the night market is free. Find out more here.

Cat-Con for species protection in the NEW Zoo

The NEW Zoo and Adventure Park is hosting its first Cat-Con for Conservation event to support efforts to protect endangered cat species around the world, including African lions and snow leopards.

Superhero masks, capes and cat ears are welcome. There will be Q&As about African lions, snow leopards and Canadian lynx. There will also be arts and crafts, cat autographs, rock paintings and more. The event is included with zoo admission and will be held Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the zoo, 4378 Reforestation Road. For more information, click here.

Candlelight concerts with Vivaldi and Coldplay

FeverUp’s Candlelight Concerts return this weekend to Birder Hall, 400 Grant St., De Pere, with two shows by Vivaldi and Coldplay. The first concert will feature the Listeso String Quartet playing Vivaldi’s “The Four Seasons” at 6:30 p.m. Saturday. This will be followed at 8:45 p.m. by a tribute to Coldplay featuring many of their hits including “Clocks,” “Paradise” and “Yellow.”
