Reach Music acquires select rights from hit songwriter Wyatt Durrette

Reach Music Publishing Inc. has expanded its portfolio and secured the rights to select publishing assets and songwriting interests of multi-platinum American country songwriter Wyatt Durrette.

The takeover, announced by Michael CloisterPresident and founder of To reach Musicincludes 29 of Durrette’s compositions and grants Reach worldwide administration rights for its newly acquired shares.

The songs included in this deal include some of Durrette’s most notable works, such as his contributions to Zac Brown BandBreakthrough hit fried chicken, which was certified 9x platinum by the RIAA. The track has been sold almost 725 million times on SpotifyOther songs by the Zac Brown Band in the acquisition are Toes And Whatever it is, both from their debut album, The Foundation.

Durrette’s songwriting credits also extend to Lukas CombsThe acquisition includes rights to Beautiful crazy people, a single that was certified diamond by the RIAA (10x platinum). This song has 870 million Spotify streams to date. Meanwhile, Combs’ Even if I go, which he wrote together with Durrette was called SESAC Song of the Year in 2020. Durrette also won the 2019 SESAC Song of the Year for Nice and crazy.

Following the agreement with Reach Music, Richard Blackstone from Blackstone Entertainment will remain Wyatt’s publisher and will jointly manage the songs that are part of the acquisition with Reach Music.

The acquisition complements Reach Music’s growing portfolio, having already signed deals in other music genres, such as the acquisition of early catalogues of Judas priest and the band member, Glenn Tiptonand the catalogue of Chuck D from Enemy of the State.

In 2020, Reach Music signed an exclusive worldwide administration agreement with the estate of Romanthony (aka Anthony Moore) and covers the complete catalogue of the DJ, producer and singer, who has 100 Songs. In the same year, the company signed a contract with TO DRIVEthe collective licensing agency representing digital music publishing rights.
