Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys report goes absolutely viral (Report)

The Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys are likely contenders for the NFC title in 2024. The Cowboys are coming off their third consecutive season of winning 12 games in the regular season. The Packers have shaken up the league in the second half of the 2023 season.

As the 2024 season approaches, a report keeps going viral across the league.

Alex Kay of Bleacher Report listed a number of transfers that would drastically impact the league ahead of the 2024 season. CeeDee Lamb of the Cowboys, who is moving to the Packers, continues to attract attention:

Dallas Cowboys receive: First round pick 2025, second round pick 2025, WR Christian Watson

The Green Bay Packers receive: WR CeeDee Lamb

The Dallas Cowboys have surprisingly failed to agree to a long-term contract extension with All-Pro wide receiver CeeDee Lamb. To make matters worse, team owner Jerry Jones has put his foot in it by saying there is no urgency to negotiate a deal before the 2024 season begins.

While there’s still a good chance that Lamb and Dallas – the team that drafted him in 2020 and developed him into a superstar who posted a staggering 135 catches, 1,749 yards and 12 touchdowns last year – can reconcile with a long-term contract extension, rumors of a trade will only increase until the 25-year-old finally signs his deal.

The rumor mill began to churn furiously after Lamb posted a “lol” on X in response to Jones’ comments. ESPN’s Courtney Cronin said it wouldn’t be surprising if the player came out with a transfer request, potentially forcing Dallas to trade him or risk him leaving as a free agent next spring.

If the three-time Pro Bowler demands a transfer, the Green Bay Packers should call. Jordan Love has proven his status as a franchise quarterback and the team should not hesitate to go all out by pairing him with Lamb, a generational pass catcher.

While the Packers have no shortage of talented wide receivers, a true No. 1 has yet to emerge in a group that includes Christian Watson, Romeo Doubs, Jayden Reed and Dontayvion Wicks. Green Bay can offer at least one of those young players in a package for Lamb, helping to clear a position logjam.

A move for Watson would make the most sense given his immense potential and redundancy in a receiver corps led by Lamb.

A second-round pick in 2022, the 25-year-old has already shown his potential when he isn’t sidelined or limited by injury. Despite missing 11 games, he has recorded 69 catches for 1,033 yards and a remarkable 12 scores in the 23 games he has played in.

Throwing Watson and a couple of top draft picks on the table could be enough to get Lamb if he pushes for a trade. The Packers would have to make some smart financial maneuvers to extend the receiver immediately after the trade, but that outlay would be worth it if this offense reaches new heights with Lamb at the helm.

The Packers haven’t been afraid to make big trades lately. In two consecutive seasons, the Packers have traded away Davante Adams, Aaron Rodgers, and (actually) Aaron Jones when they traded him for Josh Jacobs as a free agent.

However, trading for CeeDee Lamb, making him the highest-paid wide receiver in the league, doesn’t fit with what they want to accomplish on offense. Green Bay has five wide receivers they have a lot of confidence in, including Christian Watson. This young core of wide receivers has a chance to mesh with Jordan Love for years to come, and the front office doesn’t want to disrupt that.
