Hoda Kotb will be celebrating a milestone following its participation in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
The Today The presenter celebrated her 60th birthday on Friday, August 9, with a celebration at home with her family. “Great birthday morning!! I’m lucky xoxoxo,” Kotb wrote under an Instagram carousel, the first photo of which showed her unwrapping presents with her daughters Haley (7) and Hope (5).
Kotb brought the birthday spirit with decorative balloons. She and her daughters were accompanied by Kotb’s mother, Samehaher brother, Nobilityand one of her nieces. The family posed for a group photo in the last slide of the Instagram upload.
Kotb received more birthday love from her Today Co-host Al Roker via Instagram on Friday. “How can you not smile when you’re with @hodakotb? Happy birthday to someone who has shared laughs, tears, and so much more with us. Love you,” he wrote beneath a video montage of pictures of them over the years.
TodayKotb’s big day was also celebrated on her Instagram page, with photos of her on the show captioned: “Happy 60th birthday to our favorite hack enthusiast and America’s cheerleader @hodakotb! We love you so much and can’t wait to celebrate you 🩷.”
A month before her 60th birthday, Kotb told Today.com She said her “50s were my best years,” adding, “And because my 50s were my best, I imagine my 60s will be even better.”
She continued, “In my 50s, I had my kids, I got the job I dreamed of, I found out who I was. I finally feel like I’m 100 percent myself.” (Kotb adopted her daughters with her ex-fiancé Joel Schiffman in 2017 and 2019 and took over for Matt Lauer as Savannah Guthrie‘s co-host in 2018.)
The NBC morning show will continue Kotb’s birthday celebrations with a “Hoda’s 60th Birthday Bash” party at 30 Rockefeller Plaza on Monday, August 12. Today with Hoda and Jenna.
Kotb, Roker, 69, and Guthrie, 52, returned on Wednesday, August 7, in the episode of Today after covering the Olympic Games in Paris for almost two weeks. Her colleague, Craig Melvinstays in France for the last days of the competition.
Kotb gave her fans a glimpse of her sweet reunion with her daughters via Instagram on Thursday, August 8. “Mommy!” Haley cried as she and Hope ran to the door to hug their mother. The post also included pictures of Kotb hugging her two girls individually before they snuggled up together on a couch.
Although her children could not follow her abroad, Today The crew surprised Kotb and her co-hosts with video messages from their little ones. “Hi mommy, we love you and miss you. Go Team USA!” Haley and Hope said in a clip that aired on the Aug. 2 episode of the show. Kotb commented with tears in her eyes, “That was so sweet.”
