MANKATO, Minn. (KEYC) – The Greater Mankato Area United Way is hosting a region-wide drive to purchase back-to-school school supplies.
The group is looking for colored pencils, markers, glue sticks, whiteboard markers, erasers, backpacks and other school supplies.
Sarah Buesing, Community Impact Director, says backpacks are what they need most.
“It’s really important to get papers and things from school to home and from home to school so nothing gets lost,” Buesing said. “And I think we’ve heard from a few local schools that they really need that every year and so they really wanted to address that demand.”
The event will take place from 19 to 30 August.
