Rochester Police Release Photos of Suspects of Racist Vandalism

Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) – Rochester Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the people responsible for racist graffiti and property damage at a local state legislator’s home earlier this month.

A news release said investigators recently received enhanced security camera images. Anyone who recognizes the individuals is urged to call police at 507-328-6800. Tips can also be submitted anonymously through Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or on the Rochester-Olmsted Crimestoppers website.

The incident occurred at 4:30 a.m. on August 3 at the home of Rep. Kim Hicks in northwest Rochester. Police say the homeowners contacted them later that morning when they “discovered several racially motivated statements and symbols spray-painted on her home and on some political signs in her yard.”

The press release states that Rochester Police are “deeply committed to taking incidents of this nature very seriously,” and that the FBI is assisting in the investigation.
