John Louis Delich

John Louis Delich

John Louis Delich, 73, of Hixson, Tennessee, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on August 12, 2024.

He was born in Chicago. John met his wife Linda at Northern Illinois University. He lived in Morton, Illinois for 38 years, where he and Linda raised their two sons. He spent his entire career in sales. He really enjoyed talking to people. In 2017, John and Linda followed their sons and families south.

John loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He enjoyed photography and golf. He really loved baseball – he played baseball, coached and coached his sons, watched his grandchildren play, and watched his Cubs.

John was a member of the Dallas Bay Church and the Gatekeepers Sunday School class. He was a wonderful example of faith and always had a positive attitude and a smile on his face.

His parents, John N. and Theresa Amendola Delich, predeceased him.

He leaves behind his wife of nearly 52 years, Linda Delich; two sons, John E. (Holly) Delich and Greg (Katie) Delich; his grandchildren Levi, Landon, Charlie and Brayden; his siblings Jeannie (Barry) Scott, Mike Delich and Carrie Delich; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Linda and the family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Hearth Hospice who have cared for John so diligently over the past year and a half, especially Bylinda Johnson, Ashley Rotman, Glynne Casteel and Pat Caffee. And thank you, David Lewis, one of John’s dear friends who visited him often. A special thank you to Pastor Ken and Rose Young who often stopped by to visit John and share Bible verses and words of hope with him. They always shared stories about the last few baseball games, which unfortunately included the Cardinals.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 20th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday, August 21st from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Ken Young officiating, followed by burial in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

Donations may be sent in John’s name to Dallas Bay Church, 8305 Daisy Dallas Road, Hixson, Tn. 37343.

Arrangements are being handled by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson. Please share your thoughts and memories at www.chattanooganorthchapel.com.
