Major story spoilers for Natlan have been revealed in a new Genshin Influence 5.0 leak ahead of the update’s release, which is expected to arrive later this month. Right now, HoYoverse’s popular action RPG is in the final weeks of version 4.8 and is getting ready to kick things up a notch with the release of Natlan and all the content that comes with it. This will likely be showcased during this week’s version 5.0 livestream, including details on the region’s mechanics and new characters. However, one big story reveal has leaked that probably won’t appear during the livestream. Genshin Influence 5.0 live stream.

Shared by user Pap22 in a post tagged “Reliable” on Reddit, the leak shows the Images of three in-game murals that contain heavy story spoilers for the Natlan region. The first image shows a dragon-like creature breathing fire at a protective bubble, burning everyone outside of it. The second image appears to show the now defeated dragon with a figure standing on top of it, while the last leaked image shows the same figure next to another dragon-like creature in human form, both of them standing in opposite directions. This could reveal more details about Natlan in Genshin Influence.

The leaked murals likely depict Natlan’s story

As user The_Strifemaster detailed in his reply to the post, there may be more to the images. According to their speculation, the first leaked mural represents the return of the dragons to the Natlan region, which resulted in the death of most humans and Celestians – but an envoy was able to energize a tree and thus create the protective bubble mentioned above to protect those who managed to escape the wrath of the dragons. The figure of the second mural is said to represent Xbalanque in Genshin Influence.

Based on the image, the Reddit user speculates that Xbalanque was able to receive some sort of guidance from a sage and defeat the Pyro Sovereign, thus ending its rule over humanity in the Natlan region. The user says that the third image supposedly shows Xbalanque and this sage, represented by the dragon-like mask, working together to bring peace to all living things in Natlan – which could explain how humans and dragons could live together relatively peacefully in the many tribes of Natlan In Genshin Influence.

Rumour has it that Natlan is divided into tribes, each of which worships dinosaurs of different elements. These dinosaurs are the smaller dragon-like creatures that were already introduced as mounts in teasers of version 5.0 – and They could very well be the descendants of the dragons that once ruled the nation of Pyro. Of course, the supposed death of the Pyro Sovereign and Xbalanque’s rise could have different meanings that will be revealed as players progress further in Natlan’s story. The nation’s main campaign quests should be spread out over multiple updates, using previous regions as an example.

For example, Fontaine’s main story missions started with version 4.0 and ended with version 4.2.

The leak should be taken with a grain of salt as it may be incorrect, changeable, or taken out of context. However, if true, it offers deeper insight into Natlan’s history and why the Nation of Pyro’s society is structured the way it is. More teasers should be revealed during the livestream, but more concrete answers should come with the release of Natlan in Genshin Influence later in August.
