An erupting volcano, slumbering polar bears and soaring birds are just some of the majestic sights vying for first prize at this year’s Siena Drone Photo Awards.
To capture these stunning shots, photographers weren’t limited to drones. Competition guidelines encourage aerial photography from planes, helicopters, balloons and even kites.
Forbes reported that there were over 2,000 submissions in nine categories for this year’s awards ceremony.
Here are the 10 finalists in the Nature and Animals categories. The winners will be announced on September 28th and the first prize winner will receive photography equipment valued at approximately $550, as well as other perks such as a statuette and accommodation during the awards ceremony.
