Caribbean Airlines adds a new island: Tortola, BVI

The beach bars, the charter yachts, the private islands. The British Virgin Islands are among the most fascinating travel destinations in the Caribbean – but they are not always easy to reach.

This is where Caribbean Airlines comes in, which has just announced plans to begin flying to Tortola in October.

The new service places Tortola at the heart of its regional network, with flights to Tortola from Barbados, Antigua and San Juan, Puerto Rico (the latter another new destination for the company).

The new flights will begin on October 14 with flights from San Juan to Tortola on Mondays and Wednesdays (along with flights from Antigua to Tortola) and flights to and from Barbados and San Juan on Thursdays and Saturdays.

The new destination is “a significant step in our growth strategy and we are committed to providing our passengers with a seamless travel experience,” Marvin Medera, CEO of Caribbean Airlines, said in a statement to the Caribbean Journal.

“By the end of this year, Caribbean Airlines will connect the Spanish, French, Dutch and English-speaking Caribbean countries, as well as the North American diaspora and business and leisure travelers who want to explore our vibrant region,” he said.

Tickets to Tortola are now available.
