Derek Meadows of Bishop Gorman, LSU freshman, among the best WRs in the class of 2025

Derek Meadows, a senior from Bishop Gorman, Nevada, and new recruit to LSU, is one of the best receivers in the country entering the 2024 high school football season.

According to 247 Sports, Meadows is the No. 6 wide receiver in the class of 2025.

Meadows scored eight touchdowns last season as the Gaels finished 12-0 and won the Nevada (NIAA) Class 5A Division 1 championship. He scored 10 touchdowns in two seasons on the varsity team.

Meadows received a point in Bishop Gorman’s 56-11 victory over Liberty in the state championship game at Allegiant Stadium, home of the Las Vegas Raiders.

In addition to being a football star, Meadows is also a standout track and field athlete and returning state champion in the 300-meter hurdles. He was named the 2023 Nevada Gatorade Track and Field Player of the Year.

The Gaels, ranked No. 2 in the nation in the SBLive/SI national football rankings, open the 2024 season Friday night by hosting Kahuka, Hawaii, in Las Vegas.
