Obama, Clintons, Biden: Democrats present their party leaders at the party convention next week

For their party convention next week, the Democrats are putting their star-studded line-up in the spotlight.

NBC News reported that President Joe Biden, former Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton, and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will be prime-time speakers during the convention.

NBC said Biden will be a keynote speaker on the opening night of the convention next Monday, August 19, in Chicago.

Biden dropped out of the race in July and named Vice President Kamala Harris as his successor in the White House.

Hillary Clinton will also speak to the delegates on Monday evening.

Hillary Clinton ran for president in 2008 and became the first woman to be nominated for president by a major party in 2016. She also served as a U.S. Senator for the state of New York and is a former First Lady.

Former President Barack Obama will give a speech on Tuesday evening. Obama served two terms in the White House from 2009 to 2017.

Former President Bill Clinton will chair the convention on Wednesday evening. Clinton also served two terms in the White House from 1993 to 2001.

The schedule calls for a current or former President of the United States to address delegates on three of the four nights of the convention.

NBC reported that Harris will officially accept the Democratic nomination for president on Thursday evening.

She will be the first woman of color and the first person of South Asian descent to be nominated for president by a major party.

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz will accept his party’s nomination for vice president on Wednesday.

There is no information yet on who will deliver the nomination speeches for Harris and Walz.

The congress will take place from 19 to 22 August.
