Singapore Airlines to discontinue flights from Houston to Manchester in 2025

Singapore Airlines to discontinue flights from Houston to Manchester in 2025

When you hear “Singapore Airlines,” you probably don’t immediately think of a flight between Texas and the north of England. And soon, that route will disappear.

Singapore Airlines is adjusting its flight schedule and ending service between Houston and Manchester in early 2025. Here’s what you need to know.

End of the Singapore Airlines route between Houston and Manchester

Singapore Airlines currently offers a Fifth Freedom flight between Houston (IAH) and Manchester (MAN) five times a week in each direction. These flights lasts until 30 March 2025. From April 1, 2025, you will need to explore other flight options between these cities.

Interestingly, Singapore Airlines has increased the frequency of these flights from 3 to 5 flights per week in early 2024. Apparently, this route is not working for the airline. Instead of reducing the frequency, the route will be cancelled entirely as part of the airline’s realignment plans.

“Singapore Airlines regularly reviews our network and routes to adjust our capacity to meet demand. These adjustments ahead of next summer reflect higher demand to several destinations, particularly during the traditional mid-year peak travel season, and enable our customers to make their 2025 travel plans with confidence. We look forward to connecting our customers to the world with SIA’s extensive network and providing them with an unparalleled travel experience.”

Other routing options for the future

Singapore Airlines is the only airline that offers a nonstop flight between Houston and Manchester. From April 1, 2025, you will need to take a connecting flight to travel between these cities.

As for connecting airports, there are more than a dozen options for a 1-stop trip between these cities. While it is bad news that you will no longer have nonstop options in the future, The silver lining is that there are many 1-stop options.

Conclusion:

Unless another airline adds this route to its service, there will be no nonstop options in April 2025.

Final thoughts

Singapore Airlines will continue to operate its Airbus A350 five times a week between Houston and Manchester until March 30. From April 1, 2025, this service will be discontinued, meaning travelers between these cities will have to look for other options and connect somewhere along the route.
