Delta Air Lines is currently rolling out fast, free Wi-Fi from T-Mobile on select long-haul international routes, with free Wi-Fi expected to be available on most transatlantic flights by the end of the summer.

The international Wi-Fi portal’s launch will not require a SkyMiles login, but later this year, all of the airline’s Viasat Wi-Fi-equipped aircraft will transition to the Delta Sync Wi-Fi experience, which connects to travelers’ SkyMiles memberships.

The airline, which has seen a surge in international travelers this summer, first introduced Wi-Fi on flights between the U.S. and France in July. This month, free Wi-Fi will be offered on flights between the U.S. and the U.K., Germany, the Netherlands, Spain and Italy. In September, free Wi-Fi will also be available on routes to Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Greece, Portugal, Sweden and Switzerland.

From October, free WiFi will be offered at destinations in South America and Hawaii, followed by Nigeria, Ghana and Senegal in December/January 2025. From mid/late 2025, free WiFi will also be available on routes to Asia, Australia and New Zealand, as well as South Africa.

“As we continue to roll out fast, free Wi-Fi and the inflight experiences that come with it, we can serve customers in new, spontaneous ways on domestic and international travel,” said Ranjan Goswami, SVP – Customer Experience Design. “The scale at which we are offering free Wi-Fi to our customers is unprecedented in the airline industry and a testament to the incredible efforts of Delta teams across the company who have expertly navigated an extremely complex rollout.”

Delta’s regional routes will undergo a similar process and flights will come online in 2025. Over 90 percent of Delta’s domestic fleet offers free streaming-quality internet.
