Sonam Kapoor shares a glimpse of her maximalist Indian heritage-inspired home with vintage advertising finish

Sonam Kapoor is considered one of the most creative actresses in Bollywood. Whether it’s with her choice of clothing or her interior design, the diva never fails to impress her fans. This time, Sonam gave us a glimpse into her maximalist home in Mumbai, which beautifully and artistically reflects her love for Indian art and culture.

Sonam Kapoor recently gave a home tour to AD 100 designer Kavita Singh, where she shared how she wanted her home to reflect her love for all things nostalgic. Since her apartment is a very modern building, Sonam wanted to have pieces from her childhood in it that tell the story of her journey as an individual. Sonam shared that her Nanny ignited the ignition flame of her aesthetic interest: “She was a petite woman, but full of energy.”

Sonam Kapoor’s living room is the epitome of ancient Indian heritage and colourfulness

Sonam Kapoor said that she went all out with her living room decor. She went all out and decorated the walls with multiple colors and pictures and adorned them with an eclectic mix of handicraft pieces that she has collected over the years. The dominant tone of the room is gold with multiple shades of red, blue and copper. The lovingly designed space actually looks like a place from an old royal palace, a vibrant and inspiring mix of colors and cultures.

The living room had a large entrance hall decorated with a chorus of soulful reds and oranges, arctic rafts and wall patterns. The rest of the room was decorated with otherworldly antique Chinese glass paintings and Pierre Frey wallpaper. Talking about her art collection, Sonam added:

“This house, which I share with my husband Anand and my young son Vayu, represents a new chapter for me as a wife, collector and mother. I had longed for a base where I could store all the things I have collected over the years while shooting in far-flung parts of India. If I like something, nothing stops me from bringing it home.”

Sonam Kapoor’s love for blue and white themes

Although Sonam Kapoor has not openly expressed her love for the colors blue and white, her kitchen and dressing area speak volumes about the actress’ love for these hues. Featuring custom-designed tiles by artist Shibani Dhavalikar and traditional Indian copper and brass vessels, her kitchen exudes an elegant charm.

As for her dressing areas, the space is beautifully designed. Vikas Soni has painted the walls in shades of blue and white. The mirror is custom-made from Venice. The dhurrie rug from From Jaipur further enhances the splendor of the area. The silverware is inherited from her mother. The candlesticks are from Taherally’s.
