You just can’t beat a good horror franchise. Halloween Since Michael Myers is the undisputed king of all horror franchises, it stands to reason that he will always find a way back – and that is exactly what is happening now. As first reported by IGNnot just one, but two new Halloween Video games are currently being developed by the people at Boss Team Games. In addition, John Carpenter, the man who directed the original 1978 horror classic that started it allis “closely involved” in at least one of the games.
According to the report, the games will allow players to “relive moments from the film and play as classic characters from one of the most iconic and important horror films of all time.” Compass International Pictures and Further Front are developing the games in collaboration with Boss Team. While plot details are being kept completely under wraps, one of the games is being developed using Unreal Engine 5, suggesting that it is being taken very seriously. Carpenter had this to say about it:
“As an avid gamer myself, I’m very excited to bring Michael Myers back to life in this game and hope to scare the living daylights out of you.”
Surprisingly, there have been very few video games based on the saga of Michael Myers and Laurie Strode over the years. With all due respect to last year’s mobile game Halloween: A terrible connectionSave for the Halloween game developed for the Atari in 1983, fans didn’t have much to do in this regard. It looks like that’s about to change, and in a bad way. On the other hand, the timing seems right.
David Gordon Green Halloween Trilogy ended in 2022 with Halloween endswhich gave the series the opportunity to explore new media. To this end Miramax is currently developing a Halloween TV seriesthat will bring the franchise to the small screen in a meaningful way for the first time. A new film seems like an old idea, especially given the way Endwell, ended the matter. But the rights holders will not just leave money on the table. With games like Evil Dead: The Game And Chainsaw massacre in Texas Make money, why not Michael Myers?
