According to The Sun, Crystal Palace have entered the race for Nigerian midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka, who has also been linked with Barcelona and AC Milan.
The Eagles are reportedly planning a transfer for the 20-year-old along with his Chelsea teammate Trevoh Chalobah, but want to sign the latter on loan as they are unwilling to pay his £25 million transfer fee.
Crystal Palace’s interest in Chukwuemeka stems from the departure of Michael Olise to Bayern Munich, with the club wanting the England youth international as a replacement for Olise’s departure.
They have managed to sign Senegalese winger Ismaïla Sarr, but they still need further reinforcements to strengthen their attacking department, which explains why they have recruited the Aston Villa Academy product.
The talented midfielder is currently further down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge, with Enzo Maresca preferring to play either Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall or Christopher Nkunku in the number 10 position.
He has been linked with Barcelona, who may need a midfield reinforcement following the arrival of Dani Olmo, but Fabrizio Romano has claimed Chelsea have not received an official offer for the midfielder from the Spanish giants.
AC Milan were the first team to be reportedly interested in him this summer, but there is nothing concrete about that either.
