Singapore Airlines expands capacity to European cities

Singapore Airlines (SIA) will expand flights and capacity to several major European cities such as London, Rome, Milan and Barcelona as part of its 2025 summer schedule.

SIA announced that its recently launched service between London Gatwick and Singapore will be expanded from five times a week to a daily service from March 30, 2025. This would give the airline five daily flights from London, while it already offers four daily connections from Heathrow.

However, the airline has also announced plans to discontinue its Singapore-Manchester-Houston service from April 1, 2025, although it will maintain five weekly services between Singapore and Manchester from that date.

In the rest of Europe, Singapore Airlines will increase connections between Rome and Singapore from four to five weekly flights from 26 June to 28 August 2025.

A further step will see SIA “cancel” its thrice-weekly Singapore-Milan-Barcelona service between June 24 and September 7, 2025. This will allow the airline to offer more nonstop flights to both Milan and Barcelona during this period.

Singapore Airlines’ direct services to Barcelona will increase from two to five weekly flights, while the Milan-Singapore service will increase from four weekly non-stop flights to one daily flight next summer.

The airline will also expand its offering to include additional regional flights in the Asia-Pacific region, including increased frequencies from Singapore to Adelaide in Australia, Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam and Siem Reap in Cambodia.

Dai Haoyu, acting senior vice president of marketing planning at SIA, said: “With these adjustments ahead of next summer, we are responding to increased demand for several destinations, especially during the traditional peak travel season in the middle of the year, so our customers can confidently make their travel plans for 2025.”
