BTS member RM is not only a fan favorite for his incredible rapping skills and as the leader of the K-pop group, ARMY also can’t get enough of his generosity. The latest news to grab attention about the idol is the amount he transferred to his good friend and fellow rapper Sleepy as a wedding gift.
Kim Sung-Won, better known as Sleepy, married his non-celebrity girlfriend in April this year. Sleepy, a member of hip-hop duo Untouchable, has now revealed details and the amount his friend RM sent him on this important day of his life.
During his appearance on KBS’ The Return of SupermanSleepy revealed that RM sent him a huge amount to congratulate him on his wedding. Fans were shocked when he revealed that RM sent him 10 million KRW (approximately Rp. 613,000).
According to Sleepy, despite his request not to give him a gift, RM asked for his bank account information and shocked him with the large money transfer. Sleepy said it was the best wedding gift he ever received. “Honestly, it was the first wedding gift from RM. He sent me a really large amount,” Sleepy said.
Rapper DinDin, who also appeared on the episode, told the story of RM and Sleepy’s friendship and how the two have known each other for several years. The two first met in the underground hip hop scene in South Korea. In fact, it was Sleepy who introduced RM to HYBE founder Bang Si Hyuk.
“RM sent Sleepy a direct message saying he had heard about his wedding and asked for his bank account information. Although Sleepy said it was fine, he sent his information immediately. Then he immediately received an alert telling him that 10,000,000 KRW had been deposited,” DinDin said on the show.
RM, who is currently serving in the military, had spoken about choosing wedding gifts for his friends in 2022. During his appearance on PSICK SHOWThe 29-year-old said he finds choosing wedding gifts difficult, saying that his fame puts additional pressure on people’s expectations of him.
