Four American Airlines flight attendants were injured in turbulence.

On Thursday, August 8, Flight 2905 from Tampa International Airport in Florida to Charlotte Douglas International Airport in North Carolina encountered turbulence.

The four crew members were taken to a local hospital for examination. The extent of their injuries was not initially disclosed to the media. None of the 154 passengers were injured, the airline said.

“American Airlines flight 2905 from Tampa (TPA) to Charlotte (CLT) landed safely in CLT despite unexpected turbulence,” an airline spokesperson confirmed to WBTV. “We thank our crew members for their professionalism and our customers for their understanding.”

The National Weather Service defines air turbulence as “an irregular movement of air caused by vortices and vertical currents.”
