A thrifty couple who asked a hundred companies for housewarming gifts were greeted with a very welcome surprise by Iceland supermarket.
Robert and Nat from Worcester bought a new house earlier this year, but their house was empty and had few items, so they decided to try their luck and ask big companies for support by giving them free gifts.
The couple admitted that they had only sent 50 out of 100 letters and joked: “If you don’t ask, you won’t get anything!”
In a May TikTok video that garnered over a million views on Rob’s account @robertibus, the couple revealed that their very first reaction came from the British supermarket chain.
Before opening the mysterious cardboard package, Rob said, “This is from Iceland. A huge thank you from Iceland, their frozen food is amazing.”

When they opened the box, Nat expressed how “excited” she was about the reveal.
The couple were stunned when they opened the delivery to find a Daewoo two-drawer air fryer worth £79.99.
Nat, surprised by the amazing gift, exclaimed “Oh my God” before reading the gift card from Iceland, which read, “I wish you all the best in your new home with your new air fryer.”
The mother of two said: “I’ve wanted an air fryer for so long. I’m so excited to have it. Oh my goodness, thank you Iceland. We literally don’t have a kitchen in our new house at the moment, so we can actually use this for cooking.”
Rob added: “It turns out that Iceland is not only great for frozen foods, but apparently it’s great for air fryers too. I would have been happy with the cookies. I’m over the moon.”
They turned to their empty kitchen with its bright yellow cabinets and thanked the company that presented them with their new appliance.
People rushed to the comments on the now viral clip, as many curious viewers had a ton of questions for the couple.
“Does Iceland even sell this air fryer?” one asked, and a second asked, “What did you write on the letters?”

Although many doubted that the couple had received the gift from Iceland, the company itself wrote in the comments: “You’re welcome, guys! Good luck in your new home!”
Several others warmly congratulated the couple. One wrote: “Oh my god I love this. I’m so glad it’s working for you. But what a good advertisement for Iceland too.”
