Jammin’ in the Park music and arts festival returns September 1

WAYNESBORO — “Jammin’ in the Park,” the Arts Alliance of Greater Waynesboro’s annual music and arts festival, will be held Sunday, Sept. 1, from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. The event will be held at Main Street Park.

The full day of entertainment and arts will feature nine local bands playing on two stages, including The Loose Screws, The Flying Matlocks, Cornerstone, Brian Forberger, Samz@7, BBD Trio, Ethan Larsh & The Cicadas, The Note Riders and Big Whiskey.

The groups cover a wide range of musical styles, including classic and indie rock, Americana, folk, jazz, blues and many unique blends.

The festival is family friendly and this year features a greatly expanded Kid Zone area with numerous free activities sponsored by Cluggy’s Family Amusement Center and American Financial Services. Teens and their families can play mini golf, paint their own concert t-shirt and collect autographs from the performing bands, get their face painted with Miss Jenn, add to a community mural that will be auctioned off at the end of the concert, make and exchange friendship bracelets, create their own spin art masterpiece, play a round of cornhole and plant their own succulent in a hand-made pot from the Ceramic Arts Center.

Several art vendors will offer unique artwork and handcrafted items for purchase. Additionally, six food trucks will be on-site offering lunch, dinner, and desserts for sale: C&G Jerk Chicken, Gerber Burger, Road Drippin’ Mobile Café, Roll Time, Antietam Dairy, and Kona Ice. Those over 21 can purchase craft beer from Waynesboro’s Rough Edges Brewing.

The event is sponsored by Waynesboro Construction and F&M Trust and is a fundraiser. All proceeds from entrance fees benefit the Arts Alliance. Admission is $10 for adults, children under 12 are free.

Tickets are available online at www.artsalliancegw.org or at the box office on the day of the event.
