Baltimore Ravens coach John Harbaugh gives update on bumps and bruises in training camp

BALTIMORE – The Baltimore Ravens returned to the practice field on Sunday, two days after their first preseason game.

Several Ravens players were dealing with bumps and bruises, but head coach John Harbaugh said none of them were serious.

All-Pro safety Kyle Hamilton sustained a few injuries and had to leave practice early.

But Harbaugh said Hamilton should be fine.

“He looks stable, it looks good,” Harbaugh said. “We’ll do some more tests tonight and tomorrow to make sure, but the early signs are that he’s doing well.”

Harbaugh also believes that rookie cornerback Nate Wiggins, who injured his shoulder in the season opener on Friday, will not suffer a serious injury. Wiggins was able to intercept three passes.

“Wiggins is not a serious injury,” Harbaugh said.

David Ojabo, a third-year outside linebacker for the Ravens who has missed all but five games due to injury, was declared ineligible to play on Friday.

However, Harbaugh said the former second-round draft pick from Michigan looked good in practice on Sunday.

“I believe he will be (cleared), but that’s at the discretion of the doctors. They decide that, that’s why they didn’t clear him for this game,” Harbaugh said. “He practiced full steam ahead today and looked pretty good.”

Meanwhile, wide receiver Rashod Bateman missed his third consecutive practice due to an unspecified injury. He missed 12 games in 2023 due to a foot injury.

“We expect Bate back soon,” Harbaugh said. “I don’t want to speak for him, but I think he’s right there.”

The Ravens lost the opening game of the preseason 16-13 against the Philadelphia Eagles.

They host the Atlanta Falcons on Saturday at M&T Bank Stadium.
