A neighborhood festival will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. to celebrate the new playground in the park at the corner of Navajo and Mohawk streets. Renovations were completed last month.

The party includes a food truck, a snow cone truck, yard games and free face painting.

New additions to the park include a new tower play equipment with slides, an accessible carousel, a swing with an accessible swing shape and a new picnic shelter.

Manawa City Park now features basketball hoops and skating features such as a grind rail and quarter pipe. The park also features a sensory garden with an internal trail system and game boards.

“The improvements at Manawa City Park are our latest efforts to provide inclusive and accessible recreation facilities and playgrounds for all ages and abilities,” Brandon Garrett, the city’s chief of staff, told The Nonpareil in an email last month.
