He expressed his joy at being present in his private attire and representing the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who was inevitably absent.

The young commissioner also took the opportunity to give advice to the academy participants, now affectionately known as RYLArians, stressing that they should take home several positive things from the camp.

Ogunlende explained: “I want to give a gift to the best RYLArian. The best RYLArian will have the opportunity to choose between a laptop and a mobile phone.

“Coming here is not just about having fun. You have to pay attention to everything that’s happening.”

“You set the criteria, you pay attention to them, you maintain discipline and show your punctuality. Show your quality,
Your ability to express yourself confidently and express all the qualities you have as a RYLArian
“Everything will be graded and the best person will then come to my office and pick up the gift.

“I look forward to seeing this person and wish you all pleasant deliberations over the next seven days.

“Of course you’ll have a lot of fun. Lots of dancing and all kinds of things. But the best part is that you’ll come back a different person.”

He also used the opportunity to showcase some projects, innovations and platforms that the Lagos State Government has introduced to make life easier for students and youths.
