A FAMOUS chef has revealed why passengers should avoid airplane food at all costs – and opt for this pre-flight snack instead.

Many passengers look forward to enjoying their free in-flight meal. But according to a world-famous chef, travelers may want to think twice before doing so.

Gordan Ramsey is no stranger to bad meals, but even he refuses to eat the food on the plane.

The Michelin-starred chef revealed that he worked for airlines for ten years and knew exactly “where that food was and where it was going and how long it took to get on board.”

“There’s no way I’m eating on a plane,” Gordan added.

Instead, the master chef recommends that travelers have a snack in an Italian bar beforehand.

He said: “A nice selection of Italian meats, a small glass of red wine, a few sliced ​​apples or pears with some parmesan cheese, I feel like a pig in shit.”

Gordan Ramsey is not the only one warning passengers about in-flight meals.

Flight attendants have revealed which foods and drinks you should never consume on an airplane.

An experienced crew member strongly advised travelers not to drink the water during the flight.

Whytney, who works for a major U.S. airline, said: “It all depends on how often the pipes are cleaned.”

“Most flight attendants do not drink tap water, coffee or tea.”

This means that passengers can rely on bottled water for their safety and avoid dehydration by avoiding salty snacks.

Whytney told the Huffington Post that the problem is not so much in America, but in other countries where there are no comparable regulations.

Meanwhile, other crew members advised against eating steaks and fillets because they were not prepared as well.

A Delta Air Lines flight attendant who asked not to be named told the outlet, “If you have special requirements for the way your steak is prepared, don’t eat it.”

“The ovens are so big and only a limited amount of food fits in them.”

Because of the way the food is prepared at thousands of feet altitude, the meat usually ends up being overcooked and tough to eat.

This comes after this flight attendant revealed the £1 item they always take on the plane – and that you probably have a stash of in your closet.

And this crew member shared how he really feels when passengers ask him for extra food.
