I threw my son an over the top celebrity themed birthday party with nothing but Shein decorations – for the price you can’t go wrong

A mother has explained how she threw a celebrity party for her son’s first birthday for a fraction of the price.

Jessica said that instead of digging deep into her pockets to buy a party planner or expensive decorations, she bought practically everything she needed from Shein.

On TikTok, she shared an overview of the things she ordered from the website and what they looked like when set up for the “Wild One” themed party.

First, she was given three “alphanumeric candy trays” with the letters O, N and E for £5.95 each.

Instead of putting candy in them, Jessica used them as a holder for the cupcakes, which ended up looking really “cute.”

There was a small problem, however, as the N arrived upside down, but luckily the “cake lady sorted that out”.

She got a confetti holder and cone-shaped gift bags for £3.75, which “were really popular with the children”, and a jungle-themed balloon arch for £7.69.

“Some of the animals were blown away at this point, but we placed two around the background,” Jessica said.

“I thought it would be a little bigger, but for the price you can’t go wrong!”

Next came three boxes containing balloons that formed the letters O, N and E. Jessica loved them so much that she used them as “decorations for the home and for birthday parties.”

She bought a ‘Wild One’ backdrop for £7 and said it was ‘so great’ that she gave it ’10 out of 10′.

They will also receive a photo banner showing their son for each month of his first year for £2.

Jessica bought four plastic biscuit tins for a total of £8 and a pair of candy tongs.

And although she couldn’t find many green candies that fit the theme, “the adults and older children liked them, so no worries!”

The last thing she bought was a cute tablecloth that said “Wild One,” which she didn’t take a photo of but said the “quality was so good.”

“I’m glad I saw this,” one person wrote in the comments section.

“I looked at some at Shein for my daughter’s 1st birthday but wasn’t sure about the quality.”

“Shein can be unreliable sometimes, but I can’t fault that!” Jessica replied.

What is Shein and is it legit?

Shein is a pure-play online fast-fashion retailer based in China that has become one of the most popular shopping destinations for many people around the world.

In 2023, the company was valued at $66 billion, eclipsing popular high-street brands Zara and H&M.

The fashion retailer was founded in late 2008 by entrepreneur and marketing specialist Xu Yangtian, also known as Chris Xu.

Shein is a legitimate selling website and not a phishing scam.

However, if you order through the website, you may receive a disappointing order or experience shipping issues, as indicated by reviews.

There have been numerous complaints about the quality, which is understandable given the price.

“How long did it take to make the balloon arch?” asked another.

“I’m thinking of ordering one for my son’s Wild One party.”

“I actually paid someone on my Facebook £30 for doing this all the time haha!” laughed Jessica.

“I’m not very good at it, but it took her about an hour.”

“I just had my wedding reception decorations done entirely by Shein,” said a third.

“So, so impressed!”
