The countdown to the hockey season has begun.
The Penn State men’s ice hockey team released its schedule for the 2024-25 Big Ten regular season on Wednesday, setting the game dates after previously set his extra-conference scheduleThe Nittany Lions will play against Minnesota in November.
Penn State will begin the season with three road games for the second consecutive year. Penn State will face the Golden Gophers in a road series on Friday, November 1st and Saturday, November 2nd.
Following the off week, Penn State has back-to-back home games. The Nittany Lions host Wisconsin on Friday, November 15 and Saturday, November 16 and Michigan on Friday, November 22 and Saturday, November 23. The Nittany Lions finish the first semester on the road against the Buckeyes from Friday, December 6 to Saturday, December 7.
Penn State opens the new year at Wrigley Field for the Frozen Frontiers: The Big Ten Hockey Series against Notre Dame is set for Friday, Jan. 3 at 8:30 p.m. The trip to the Midwest ends on Sunday, Jan. 5 in South Bend, ending the series.
Penn State closes out the month of January in Hockey Valley with six straight games against conference foes Michigan State on Friday, January 10 and Saturday, January 11 and Ohio State on Friday, January 24 and Saturday, January 25.
The Nittany Lions have two consecutive away weekends in February: They travel to Ann Arbor to face the Wolverines on Friday, February 1 and Saturday, February 2 before traveling to face the Badgers on Friday, February 7 and Saturday, February 8.
Penn State returns home for a series against Notre Dame on Friday, February 14 and Saturday, February 15 before heading to Michigan State for its final road series of the regular season on Friday, February 21 and Saturday, February 22. The regular season ends when the Golden Gophers come to Hockey Valley on Friday, February 28 and Saturday, March 1.
The quarterfinals of the Big Ten Tournament in the best-of-three format are scheduled for March 7.
