Baltimore will be without the experienced Maulet or the electrifying Mitchell for at least four games to start the season. The other injured players, including two undrafted free agents, will miss the entire 2024 season.

For the second year in a row, the Ravens showed questionable selection decisions, as a draft pick from this year did not make the 53-man roster. Last year, the fifth-round cornerback Kyu Blu Kelly are released, while this year the quarterback from Kentucky in the sixth round Devin Leary get the early axe. Such incidents were not common under the former General Manager Ozzie Newsomeand Ravens fans will hope that Eric De Costa doesn’t make a habit of wasting draft picks.

On the other hand, DeCosta continued his usual trend of analytical excellence while the Ravens continued what has become a tradition of bringing at least one undrafted rookie to the initial 53-man roster. This year, the honor goes to Maryland safety Beau Brade. Baltimore opted to sign young, promising talent Brade rather than keep the experienced veteran Worley, who has done some good work on the Ravens’ defense over the past few years.
