OBITUARY
CARDINAL John W., age 60, of St. Paul, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2024, at the Good Samaritan Society – Specialty Care Community in Robbinsdale from complications of Huntington’s disease.
His parents, Jerome and Lorraine Cardinal, are deceased. He is survived by his brother Kevin (Theresa); his nieces and nephews Allison Hock (Aaron), Kristin Cardinal (Sam), Robert Cardinal (Ashley), Elizabeth Cardinal and William Cardinal; his great nephews Augustine and Peter Cardinal; Charles, Henry, Bennett and Declan Hock. John had a long list of friends in his life, most notably Mike Dressen, Tim McGrath and Tony Bilotta. Also to be mentioned are his countless friends from the Stages Theatre Company in Hopkins, the Roseville Area Middle School Theatre and the friends he made during his many years of wolf watching in Yellowstone National Park. John’s hobbies included building furniture and he was an avid fisherman, spending countless days hunting bass and the elusive muskie. His favorite piece of advice to those who fished with him was, “Set the hook hard and let God do the rest.” Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at the Maternity of Mary Catholic Church, 1414 Dale St. N., St. Paul, MN, 55117. Viewing will be on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Roseville Memorial Chapel, 2245 Hamline Ave N, 55113. Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
