Anna Nicole Smith’s daughter Dannielynn Birkhead looked completely different at a cosplay convention with her father Larry to kick off her upcoming birthday celebration.
“Had a blast this weekend at @officialpowermorphicon in Pasadena, CA thanks to @tokuspirits!” Larry wrote on Instagram, posting pictures of himself and his 17-year-old daughter. The Power Morphicon, which ran August 23-25, celebrates Japanese live-action and the Power Rangers franchise.
Larry explained in his post that Dannielynn was “overjoyed” to meet her favorite characters. Dannielynn wore some sort of white-streaked brunette wig and had a “bird-like hand and feathered hair,” Larry wrote.
“This is the first stop and pre-party for Dannielynn’s upcoming birthday party!” Larry added. “The countdown begins now!”
Dannielynn is the daughter of Larry and the late Playboy model and actress Anna Nicole Smith (whose real name was Vickie Lynn Hogan).
Smith, who died when Dannielynn was five months old, made headlines because of her relationships and legal troubles.
In 1994, Smith married wealthy oil magnate J. Howard Marshall II. She was 26 at the time and he was 89. When Marshall died in 1995, Smith fought in court to get a share of his fortune. From 2002 to 2004, Smith also appeared on “The Anna Nicole Show” on E!.
In 2006, Smith announced she was pregnant. She gave birth to her daughter Dannielynn, and a few days later, Smith’s son Daniel died of a drug overdose. Although two men – Smith’s lawyer Howard K. Stern and Larry Birkhead – claimed to be Dannielynn’s father, it was Birkhead, which was proven by DNA testing. Smith died of an accidental drug overdose in February 2007 at the age of 39.
Larry, a photographer, has a very close relationship with Dannielynn and they often honor Smith.
In January, Larry posted photos from the Kentucky Derby, where he takes his daughter every year. It was at the annual horse race that Larry met Smith for the first time.
For Dannielynn’s birthday last year, Larry wrote an emotional caption on Instagram.
“You are funny, insanely smart, beautiful, and just about everything I could imagine,” Larry wrote. “Your mom would be so proud of you, I certainly am. Happy birthday! Love, Dad. By the way, when you asked me if you could live in my basement forever, I said yes, but I didn’t have the heart to tell you that there are no basements in Florida.”
