Young chefs from Montgomery County win at the state fair

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) – Exciting news from Montgomery County: Several area teens recently won big at a cooking competition at the Kentucky State Fair.

The Montgomery County Junior Chef Team emerged victorious at the Junior Chef Championship, competing against nine high school teams.

Their dishes featured fresh, local Kentucky ingredients. The winning team prepared a Greek turkey bowl. The grand prize for each team member is a $10,000 scholarship to Sullivan University.

The second-place team from McCracken County prepared creamy pasta with chicken and sun-dried tomatoes and also received scholarships.

Wondering what’s next for the young chefs? The winning team will compete in the Southeast Region Junior Chef Competition in May 2025.

Diapers for Diplomas program expands to MTSU

It’s been a while since I’ve had to buy diapers for my boys (thank goodness!). But when I recently bought a pack for a baby shower, I was SHOCKED at the price. That’s exactly why I hope anyone who needs help sees Jason’s story about the growing Diapers for Diplomas program. Hats off to anyone pursuing a college degree and raising babies. Two tough jobs! Please help spread the word – it could make all the difference.
