“Do not eat” warning for customers because of Kellogg’s cereal

A “Do not consume” warning has been issued to customers because a Kellogg’s cereal product may be “unsafe.”

The brand’s chocolate-flavored cornflakes are being recalled because “small, hard lumps of food” may have formed inside the product.

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) issued an urgent warning on Wednesday (22 May), saying that 450g packs of Kellogg’s Corn Flakes Chocolate Flavour with a best before date of 6 December 2024 to 28 April 2025 would be recalled.

“This product may contain small, hard lumps of food that make it inedible for consumption,” the risk statement continued. “If you purchased the above product, do not eat it. Instead, throw the product away and contact Kellogg’s for a full refund.”

Kellogg’s stated: “We have become aware of a very small amount of small, hard lumps forming in our new Kellogg’s Chocolate Flavored Corn Flakes. These hard lumps could cause tooth damage or pose a choking hazard. Out of an abundance of caution, we are recalling this product.”

Regular cornflakes and other Kellogg’s products are not affected.

Anyone who has purchased the product is instead asked to throw it away and contact https://www.kelloggs.co.uk/en_GB/contact-us.html for a full refund.
