WHEN: 07.09.2024, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

WHERE: The Denver Art museum Martin Building Welcome Center (between 13th and 14th Ave.), 100W 14th Ave. Pkwy.

DETAILS: Join us for the 35thth annual Friendship Powwow on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at the Denver Art Museum (DAM). As one of DAM’s longest running events, the Friendship Powwow is a great opportunity to come together and Celebrate the culture and creativity of Denver and Front Range’s diverse indigenous communities.

This event is designed each year in collaboration with members of the regional indigenous community and features Native American dance competitions, hands-on activities for the whole family, prize draws, and booths from artists, food stalls and vendors.

Further details of the programme can be found on our website and everyone is welcome to join in. our local Indigenous community and enjoy music and dance performances from 10am-5pm. The celebration includes a jewelry art activity with Tara Gover in the Creative Hub from 11am-4pm.

Indigenous-run nonprofits offer fried bread and Native American tacos, and vendors display jewelry, art, crafts, clothing, and more!

The Grand Entry, in which all dancers perform together, begins at 11 a.m. in the Sie Welcome Center and the Sturm Grand Pavilion of the Martin Building.

September 7th is a free day at the DAM and general admission is free for ALL visitors. For more information, visit the museum’s website.
