DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE fights its way back to number 1 and exceeds the .2 billion mark worldwide, while THE CROW flops at number 1.

Summer is coming to an end and the most successful film of the year has returned to first place after being dethroned by Alien: Romulus last week.

Yes, Deadpool and Wolverine is back at number one in North America with $18.3 million, a 39% drop. The film is now in its fifth weekend in theaters and is a nice achievement for a blockbuster that continues to exceed expectations.

The third chapter directed by Shawn Levy is now over Aquaman And Captain America: Civil War is set to become the eighth highest grossing superhero film of all time at the worldwide box office, currently sitting at a whopping $1.2 billion and likely to gross between $1.3 and $1.4 billion by the end of its run.

This is even more impressive because the film has an R rating. In the UK, for example, Deadpool and Wolverine is rated 15. In case it wasn’t clear, that means no one under 15 can see the film (with or without parents), and that’s a sizable portion of the audience. Could it have made over $2 billion with a PG-13 rating? We’ll never know.

Elsewhere, Alien: Romulus slipped to second place with an impressive $16.2 million. The CrowThe remake landed at number 8 behind Deadpool and Wolverine, Alien: Romulus, It ends with us, Flash twice, The Forge, Twistersand the Coralline Re-publication.

Not only is that three or four places lower than expected, but it also grossed only $4.6 million, just over half of the original opening weekend estimates. This is another big loss for Lionsgate after Borderland flopped a few weekends ago.

The Crow will likely be streaming to digital platforms very quickly, so if you’re curious about this film but don’t want to see it on the big screen, you’ll no doubt get the chance to do so soon enough. Deadpool and WolverineWe’re sure Disney is in no hurry to miss out on additional box office revenue, and at the time of this writing, no release date for the Blu-ray has been announced.
