Packers end preseason with 30-7 win over Ravens

GREEN BAY, Wisconsin (WSAW) – In the Packers’ first and only preseason game this year at Lambeau Field, the home crowd was overjoyed with a clear 30-7 win over the Ravens.

The Packers struck first with two field goals by Anders Carlson (54 yards) and Greg Joseph (36 yards). The Ravens made the first advance into the end zone after a 48-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Josh Johnson to wide receiver Tylan Wallace.

Afterwards, green and gold dominated the lawn at Lambeau.

Rookie quarterback Michael Pratt found wide receiver Bo Melton for an 18-yard pass into the end zone. The defense then made a splash in the second half of the second quarter. Defensive end Arron Mosby stripped the ball from quarterback Devin Leary, while safety Anthony Johnson Jr. picked up the fumble and returned it for a 24-yard touchdown. Mosby struck again with an interception on the following drive.

Despite early struggles from quarterback Sean Clifford (3/10 completions for 31 yards), he scored the first point of the second half with a 7-yard toss to wide receiver Malik Heath. Clifford completed 6/14 for 53 yards and a touchdown, while Pratt completed 8/12 for 80 yards, a touchdown and an interception. Fortunately, both quarterbacks held their ground as the offensive line did not allow any sacks.

The final score of the game came on a 55-yard field goal by Greg Joseph late in the 3rd quarter. Joseph made two kicks on the day, while Carlson missed a 32-yard field goal in the 4th quarter after sinking his 54-yard kick in the first quarter.

Iola native Kristian Welch followed up his strong performance against Denver with a similar performance. The linebacker led Green Bay with six tackles, two pass deflections and an interception.
