CHELSEA — The four-day Democratic convention ended with Vice President Kamala Harris accepting the party’s nomination, just 32 days after politically weakened President Joe Biden dropped out of the race.

The quick deal on Harris and the prospect of a better chance of preventing former President Donald Trump’s return to the White House enlivened delegates at Chicago’s United Center. Bolstered by Democratic star power and celebrity endorsements, the celebratory mood inside the convention often resembled a dance party. Outside, however, protests against the war between Israel and Hamas continued, and pro-Palestinian Democrats said Harris had not yet put to rest the concerns they raised under Biden.

What was unique about this convention was that 200 social media influencers were accredited by the DNC to develop pro-Harris content for TikTok and other platforms. The DNC built a state-of-the-art stage for them on the convention grounds and rolled out the blue carpet for their live reports.

Below you can see scenes from the DNC in Chicago from August 19 to 22, taken by Washington Examiner Photographer Graeme Jennings.
