TRANSCRIPT OF THE MISSION:
Grab your family and friends because the Big Bend Rodeo is in town. I’m Ashley Engle, your Quincy reporter. This year, neighbors are taking a closer look at the economic impact of this event. I’m looking at how they’ll track that impact.

Six years

“Rodeos just bring people together.”

Smile, laugh and … bring

Yes, he too, to the neighbors

Jerry Byrd, a professional rodeo commentator, is always excited to be there.

“I hope we have so many people here that we can’t put a sheet of paper between them.”

Neighbors from all over the Quincy area come to the Big Bend Rodeo.

“We had about 2,200 people there and I was in ah. We had to find a place for them all to sit

Danny Parramore is a member of the Gadsden Horseman Association. He tells me the rodeo can have an economic impact by bringing people to the neighborhood.

This will be the first year that these impacts will be tracked in this neighborhood.

We are just so blessed and it’s a family thing.”

“When everyone comes to town and, as you said, comes to the Big Bend Rodeo, they come from all directions to enjoy one of the oldest sports in America.”

Big Bend Rodeo is from Friday, August 23rd through Saturday, August 24, behind the Alfred J Lawson Jr. Gadsden County Cooperative Extension Service Center.
