Wow, there were many big cameos in Deadpool and Wolverine I’m not over it yet. One of my favorites is the return of Jennifer Garner as Elektra after the actress played the Marvel role in 2003. Daredevil and 2005 Electra. I have no idea whether Garner will play the role in any upcoming Marvel moviesafter seeing a costume concept that more closely matches the comic, I really hope she shows up again.
John Staub, senior illustrator at Marvel Studios, recently shared an early pass on Instagram of the character Elektra for her secret return as a hero. Check it out:
The character from Marvel Comics, who first appeared in Daredevil #168 in 1981, famously wears a red scarf on his head, along with the color red on the entire costume. When Garner first portrayed the character in Daredevilthe film opted for a dark purple leather costume. She once again wore a purple costume that was reminiscent of Daredevil In Deadpool and Wolverine.
As the illustrator shared in the concept art, he had imagined Elektra in something similar to the original character’s suit to show how long she was in the Void and how her costume changed during that time. But when it came to Garner’s role in the latest Marvel flick, the costume team opted for a more nostalgic look from her time in Daredevil. Yes, I definitely have FOMO thinking about what could have been if the film’s team had decided to change the film to be closer to the comics.
Almost 20 years after her role as Elektra, Jennifer Garner looked as if she had been in the same position since her first appearance in Daredevilbut it was not without the actress trains for months. Check out this incredible video of Garner getting “Marvel Fit” by doing tons of gym exercises, boxing and wielding knives. Garner had a small role in Deadpool and Wolverinebut it was a nice homage to the era of 20th Century Fox’s Marvel films.
Although Rumor has it that Jennifer Garner will return as Elektra in June 2023the set managed to keep the actress out of all leaks until the film went viral. We also saw Wesley Snipes’ Blade, Chris Evans’ Johnny Storm and Channing Tatum makes his role debut as Gambit after trying to play the character over and over again over the years.
While Jennifer Garner had the opportunity to wear red for her spin-off film Elektra, it’s odd that she’s never worn the red bandana before. It’s such an iconic part of comic book character design. If we never get to see it, at least we know that the concept art was reminiscent of the comics when creating Elektra’s design.
